Vue.js has become the most popular frontend framework in the world - at least measured in stars on GitHub. Yesterday the library took over the absolute top-position from Bootstrap, which for several years used to have collected the most "GitHub-likes" - even by a huge margin.

With 40,000 new stars, the frontend library Vue collected most new GitHub stars compared to other javascript frameworks worldwide in 2017. React entered second place with a growth of 27,800. Thus, the two libraries maintain their top ranking from the previous year in the latest edition of JavaScript Rising Stars.

Node still becomes the chosen platform by more and more IT developers worldwide, but growth rates have begun to decrease according to the newly released Node-by-numbers report for 2017. This report also shows, that Linux grows more and more dominant in the field, and that node is booming in Russia.

Front-end library Vue is now being used by more developers worldwide than Angular. According to State og JavaScript 2017, 4647 respondents stick to Vue when doing front-end development. For Angular the number is 4449. Angular´s 30 pct. lead from the 2016-survey has vanished. The reason may be, that significantly more developers choose to ditch Angular compared to Vue. React still leads the front-end-pack, though, now gaining support from 13.669 respondents.

Last week, the front-end library Vue.js surpassed 260.000 NPM downloads. This suggests, that the library is now entering the million-downloads-per-month-league. Simultaneously Vue.js surpassed AngularJS in the field for the first time. However, present Angular and the present king of js-libraries, React, are still being downloaded significantly more often.
